Chandler Limited Germanium Microphone Pre Amp/DI pair with power supply, the one with serial number 002 280 has a new transistor and the manufacturer recommended mod for eliminating the feedback issue
I just cut a record with these, and they sound absolutely amazing on electric guitars and basses - big fat warm syrup. Transformers in and out, and the transistor add a whole layer of goodness on top of everything. Great bass DI. Don't look at the knobs, just leave the Thick button in and turn them until it sounds good. Not really a matched pair or stereo pair, I tried them on drum overheads on a jazz date, and the imaging was kind of narrow. Sounded good though, nice smooth ride. These are kind of Neve-adjacent, and they have their own sound, but I'm looking at getting an actual Neve 1073 and EQ.
DBX Step out of the low-end market and took a chance on the high end. no one gave them any respect - but secretly everyone was shaking in there boots - they nailed it.  because of a lack of sales, they went back to what they do best. but this thing can stand face to face with Grace Design 201m and  Millennia Origin STT-1
So before you start laughing at the DBX name check this out if you can find one.

is a dual-channel microphone preamp featuring a pristine audio path, housed in an exquisitely engineered chassis. dbx refers to the 786 as a "precision microphone pre-amp" in that it is designed to provide the truest reproduction of the microphone source as is electronically possible, as opposed to other preamps that have been designed to add color to the source.
The pre-amp features regulated +48V phantom power, a 20dB pad, and phase invert functions.
